Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pork belly
  • 1 cup Soy sauce
  • 1 cup Mirin
  • 1 cup Sake
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 Ginger (sliced)
  • 4 cloves Garlic (smashed)
  • 4 Green onions (cut into 2-inch pieces)

Instructions 

  1. 1. Roll the pork belly and tie it with kitchen twine.
  2. 2. In a large pot, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, water, ginger, garlic, and green onions.
  3. 3. Add the pork belly to the pot and bring to a boil.
  4. 4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2 hours, turning occasionally.
  5. 5. Remove the pork belly and let it cool before slicing.
