Hayashi Rice Recipe
A delicious Japanese comfort food made with beef, onions, and a rich demi-glace sauce served over rice.

Main Ingredients
- 400 g Beef (thinly sliced)
- 2 Onions (sliced)
- 1 cup Mushrooms (sliced)
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 2 tablespoon Flour
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 1 cup Red Wine
- 1 tablespoon Tomato Paste
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- to taste Salt and Pepper
- 4 cups Cooked Rice
1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until translucent.
2. Add the beef and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add beef broth and red wine, stirring constantly.
4. Add tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens.
5. Return beef and onions to the skillet. Add mushrooms and cook for another 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Serve the hayashi sauce over cooked rice.
