Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef short ribs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup mirin
  • 1 cup sake
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger sliced
  • 1 bunch green onions chopped

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. 2. In a Dutch oven, heat a bit of oil over medium-high heat. Brown the short ribs on all sides.
  3. 3. Add the soy sauce, mirin, sake, water, sugar, garlic, and ginger to the pot. Bring to a boil.
  4. 4. Cover the pot and transfer it to the oven. Braise for about 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  5. 5. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
