Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoon flour
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- to taste Salt and pepper
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add onion, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.
Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
Gradually add beef stock and red wine, stirring constantly.
Add tomato paste and bay leaf. Simmer for 1 hour.
Season with salt and pepper. Strain before serving.
