Ingredients

  • 2 eggplants medium-sized
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cut the eggplants in half lengthwise.
  2. 2. Mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. 3. Brush the cut sides of the eggplants with vegetable oil.
  4. 4. Grill the eggplants cut side down over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
  5. 5. Flip the eggplants and brush with the soy sauce mixture. Grill for another 5-7 minutes until tender.
  6. 6. Serve hot.
