Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Chuck Roast
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Soy Sauce
  • ½ cup Mirin
  • ½ cup Sake
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 large Carrots cut into chunks
  • 2 large Potatoes cut into chunks

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. 2. Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the beef chuck roast on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. In the same pot, add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
  4. 4. Add the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
  5. 5. Return the beef to the pot. Add the carrots and potatoes.
  6. 6. Cover the pot and transfer to the preheated oven. Cook for about 3 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  7. 7. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
