Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Japanese short-grain rice uncooked
  • 2.5 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 sheets Nori (seaweed) cut into strips
  • 1 can Tuna optional, for filling
  • 2 tablespoon Mayonnaise optional, for filling

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the rice in a rice cooker with 2.5 cups of water.
  3. Once cooked, let the rice cool slightly.
  4. Wet your hands with water and sprinkle with salt to prevent sticking.
  5. Take a handful of rice and form into a ball or triangle shape.
  6. If using a filling, make a small indentation in the center of the rice ball, add the filling, and cover with more rice.
  7. Wrap a strip of nori around the rice ball.
  8. Repeat with the remaining rice.
