Japanese Rice Porridge (Okayu) Recipe

- ½ cup Japanese short-grain rice
- 3 cups Water
- ½ teaspoon Salt
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a pot, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add salt to taste and stir well. Serve hot.
