Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice short-grain
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Rice Wine

Instructions 

  1. 1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. 2. In a saucepan, combine the rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. 3. Strain the rice, reserving the liquid. Discard the rice solids.
  4. 4. Return the liquid to the saucepan. Add sugar and rice wine. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  5. 5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Let cool, then transfer to a glass jar. Store in the refrigerator.
