Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 2 tomatoes diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Dice the tomatoes, onion, and garlic.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat.
  4. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  5. Add the tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  6. Add the rice, water, soy sauce, salt, and sugar. Stir well.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
